How I Became Unleashed

You probably want to know a little bit about me before opening yourself to me as your coach, right?

Well, in my early 40’s, something happened that awakened the real me from within. I let go of the belief systems that were holding me back. As a result, my life, my family, and my career were completely transformed.

I have been a professional career and leadership coach for over 25 years and throughout my journey, I’ve been blessed to find coaches and mentors who supported me at the most critical moments of my life. Each time, they’ve helped in turning my life around, and I wish the same for you.

My Pursuit of the American Dream

I moved to the U.S. from Puerto Rico in 1996, I worked harder than I’d ever worked before to learn the language assimilate into American and corporate culture, eventually climbing the ranks in the private sector of the highly sales-driven hospitality and vacation ownership industries where I led across a number of leadership and Human Resources positions.

Life in Puerto Rico

As a child, I dreamt of becoming a doctor or a performer. Those innate passions for healing and bringing people joy have shown up in my life in a different way but one that truly fulfills my soul.

A Gut Punch

A major turning point in my career happened when a senior-level leadership opportunity that I had worked hard for was denied to me. I was told I was inadequate for such leadership opportunities and that my accent and how I carried myself were too “unpolished” for business. That moment bruised my ego and although my anger fueled some of my best work, I lived as if my entire career had collapsed.

Time for Change

Just as I was approaching my 43rd birthday, I saw a photo of me and simply could not recognize myself. It was clear that my health was declining and I knew something had to be done. I entered the world of fitness with the goal of taking control of my health and gave myself a year to dig deep and turn things around. It was one of the best investments I’ve ever made and it paid off in every area of my life.

And then things Crumble…

Strangely enough, the more I worked on myself, the more everything around me changed including my long-term marriage and finances. Like an earthquake surrounding me, everything seemed to collapse all at once. I felt that I had hit rock bottom. Beaten down, feeling unloved, and like I was not enough, I knew it was time to start again…AGAIN!

In 2012, I left everything behind and started from scratch. Took a sojourn to Europe on my own. Thereafter, I dedicated years to travel domestically and internationally. I went to Jerusalem, Israel in 2016 and in 2018 I embarked on a 10-month journey that deepened my spirituality. A miracle happened, and the deconstruction of my old identity began, giving space for my true self to fully show up. It was the beginning of what I refer to as my “coach journey.”

Life Unleashed comes to life

In 2018, I added yoga and meditation to my practices to balance the chaos that was happening in my life as I went through the process of rebuilding it all. I took a huge risk and asked for help and an opportunity at work. I began helping and inspiring others through wellness as a fitness instructor. I opened Life Unleashed shortly after that and have been professionally coaching and consulting since then!

Today

In addition to owning and operating Life Unleashed, LLC, I serve as an Organizational Development & Human Resources (ODHR) executive at an academic institution here in Orlando, FL area. Engaging with people from all walks of life is my passion and it’s my honor to support the true desires and wishes of others while witnessing them reach their full potential. I have three grown children and three grandchildren.

I am currently an executive in Organizational Development and Human Resources (ODHR) at an academic institution in the Orlando, FL area. Throughout my career, I’ve served leadership and employees as a coach, leader, internal consultant, and senior business partner. Specifically, leadership teams in the implementation of strategy, services, policies, and programs in collaboration with others in Organizational Development and Human Resources, vendors and other professionals. I have over 500 hours of paid coaching experience and client testimonials that speak to the power of our work together.

I hold a B.A. in Business Administration and Human Resources Management from the Universidad Interamericana of Puerto Rico.
